Devlog #3 - Feelin' like a real game!

I only worked on the game about 30 hours this week, but I’m still happy with how much progress was made!

  • updated the way keys, door, and chests work with a new “lock tier” system

  • added dark outlines to game objects and to HUD UI to make the visuals “pop”

  • added new items, puzzles, and clues!

  • added pillar objects that can be pushed around to solve puzzles (you can also put items on them)

  • setup a basic cutscene system

  • AND last, but not least, a new title screen!

All of that has combined to make Life’s Not Square begin to feel like a real game and I’m very excited! Although I can tell that I will need to be putting in at least 40+ hours a week on the game for the coming weeks in order to finish the demo by the end of the year. Taking today off, but next week I’ll be ramping up the hours and hopefully make a ton more progress!

More to come soon!
